Pluskul was born out of the work at IGenPlus, a K-12 school for culture and creativity. In a span of over two years, the IGenPlus team has conducted a wide array of online courses, webinars, contests, events, and experiences involving thousands of participants across the globe. The focus of all the programs is on nurturing skills and values that prepare children for life. Watch our journey here.
Storytelling, engagement, and involvement in the process of learning helps students remain connected to the community and environment we live in. Activities, cultural events, mentorship, and creative competitions can be opportunities for creating responsible citizens who take away the lessons to play a contributing role in society. At Pluskul, every interactive program has an element of family education, community learning, and our civilisational heritage.
The western education system is a result of the industrial revolution and colonial era where school was not a place of learning but an institution for serving the factories and the commonwealth. American educational psychologist Edward Thorndike’s theories on learning and behaviour looked at education as a tool for social adjustment and controlling human nature. These perspectives have witnessed a sharp decline in the 21st century as today, education focuses on knowledge enhancement, skill development, and holistic development of the child.
Our courses seek to develop YOGI, CREATIVE, and EXPONENTIAL skills in children through interactive discussions, activities, workshops, assessments, etc. You may read about our philosophy and pedagogy on the “About Us” section of our website.
While K12 and EdTech have been around for some years, these sectors received a boost when parents, teachers, and students turned to online learning during the pandemic. Online K12 schools offered personalised and high-quality education to help students reach their potential. There were opportunities to offer flexibility, fine-tune the curriculum, and connect with a wider community as compared to traditional brick and mortar schools. Going forward, the school education sector should embrace the best of both worlds.
Pluskul aims to provide an open and thought-provoking learning environment where students are not passive recipients of the education system but creators, sharers, and leaders of their journey. Our programs build 21st century skills and nurture children’s inherent capabilities to prepare them for any situation in life. Whether they want clarity about the next steps of their school life, get into a college of their choice, or become an entrepreneur, our experienced mentors and experts are readily available to guide them every step of the way.
